Take a look at the picture above. What do you notice?
I enjoy photography. I’m quite certain I have shared that information with the congregation in the past, but I’m sharing it again for some context. I enjoy photography. At times, I wander about with our D-SLR camera; other times I simply rely on my phone. The point I’m trying to make is that I try and train myself to see what is around me so that I might be able to take a picture. I enjoy watching for the beauty that is so evident all around us.
Take a look at this picture. What do you notice?
And, take a look at this picture. What do you notice?
My encouragement today is simply to pay attention to what is going on around you. Particularly, look for signs of life that are evident everywhere in this spring season. Whether you notice tulips, new grass, or (do you know what the 3rd picture is of? – feel free to send me your guess!), allow yourself to reflect on the fact that God is the giver of life! Give thanks!
Yes, I took all of these pictures. But that’s not the point. The point is that God made all of the objects captured in the pictures. And for that I’m grateful! Thank you, God!
So, the next time you go for a walk, look around. What do you notice?
