Welcome to our church! We offer something for every age. Please browse our website, and join us at one of our services. We look forward to welcoming you in person.
Who We Are
At King Road Church, we see ourselves as “one church, with one leadership, but with multiple expressions.” We are one church worshiping in multiple languages (English, German, Spanish). We have all ages of people in our congregation, from children to seniors. We encourage everyone to become connected in some kind of small group, where caring, teaching and serving are included.
If you really would like to get to know us, why not visit us on a Sunday morning?
We look forward to meeting you. Our Sunday morning worship services are planned to be relevant, meaningful encounters with God, built around worshipping together and teaching from the Bible. Our services are diverse and unique.

About King Road Church
King Road Church was established in 1966 as a way of providing ministry to German-speaking Abbotsford residents. Over the years, the church has grown to include about 800 people of all ages, worshiping in multiple languages. We invite you to explore our website to learn more about us and the ministry programs you will find here.

Our Vision and Identity
“Following Jesus. Loving each other. Reaching our world.”
As we strive to live out this vision, we feel that God wants us to do so based on the following values:
- dependence on God with Christ at the centre
- biblical teaching
- loving relationships and growing discipleship
- missionary vision
- sacrificial service
- empowered leadership
We also are committed to prayer! Never hesitate to contact us with a prayer request or a praise item.
The German service begins at 9:30 a.m. and lasts for just over an hour. The music is more traditional in style, with a blend of newer songs and older hymns. You can expect to hear about events that are going on in the life of our congregation, and time is taken for prayer and for receiving an offering. We regularly have different musical groups serve as part of the service. A biblical sermon is a key part of the service, focused on teaching and application.
The English service begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts for just over an hour. The service usually begins by highlighting some of the events in the life of our congregation. The music is blended in style, typically with a full worship team leading the congregation. Scripture readings are often incorporated into the time of worship. We take time to pray and we receive an offering. A biblical sermon, focused on teaching and application rounds out the service prior to a closing song.
King Road Church is a part of the family of Mennonite Brethren Churches. As a partner together with many other churches, we both support and benefit from the larger community. Here are some organizations with whom we are affiliated.
We believe in God as eternal Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created and sustains the universe. The eternal purpose of God the Father is to create a people who will bring glory to God forever. God alone is worthy of worship.
We believe that God became human in Jesus Christ. Jesus came to restore the world because humans have rejected God in disobedience. Jesus taught and modeled the way of God’s kingdom. He died on the cross, making it possible for us to accept a renewed relationship with God. He rose from the dead, broke the power of sin and death, and frees us to live in obedience to God’s will.
We believe that God the Holy Spirit invites all people to be reconciled with God and to join the global family of faith. Believers confess their faith, are baptized, and join in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Through the power of the Holy Spirit and guided by the Bible, members of the church seek to live as followers of Christ and invite others to experience this new life.
As Christians, we are called to turn:
- from ignorance of God to a personal relationship with God
- from bondage of sin and past mistakes to freedom, forgiveness, and healing
- from individualism to interdependence with others in the local church
- from lifestyle choices that harm us, others, and the earth to choices that nurture wholeness, healing, joy, and peace
- from hating enemies and ignoring neighbours to showing love and justice to all
- from loving possessions to sharing with all in need
- from aimless existence to a mission of representing and proclaiming God’s kingdom on earth
As Christians, we look forward to the day when God will once again send Jesus to bring all things under God’s eternal rule.
